Reading though some of my old blog entries and it seems I had a lot more to say about nothing particular at all than I do now. I'm sure that means something... probably that I'm just not thinking enough in creative ways lately. I need to do something about that.

Time to get myself into the habit of posting on here, posting anything, posting everything, just posting.

I am hereby official boycotting any website that advertises that bloody stupid crazy monkey ring tone. No matter how much the site may be one I usually read and respect, run that add and your on my black list.

Don't you just hate the bit where you realise that despite all your best efforts, copying and using other peoples work, just no one has actually done what you need to do, so you have to do it yourself, and if that means I need to learn pearl, java and everything inbetween, then i've got a bit of reading to do.

So i got me a gmail addy now. Yay. sorddin@gmail.com for anyone interested in such things. Now all i need is an 'orkut' invite and my transition to the google-side with be complete. [insert evil laughter]

So I've spent a fair bit of time lately checking out what is new in the world of web design, and dicided I really need to fix up my less than prefect layout, to that end I'm working towards a redux of my current design. And to test it I've put up a sample.

Recently the majority of comments posted to my little blog here have been spam. The first time I saw this happen I was rather surprised. But I got over that.

Spam gets into everything.

Weblog spam is different to email spam. It is usually hand entered by so no good fool who thinks it will make them some money.

Why would anyone think I would even tolerate a link to a viagra site?

For some strange reason the spammers seem to keep trageting the same few entries. Mostly the first draft of my Bernice story.

But thanks to the wonders of a little plug-in called MT-Blacklist, I usually know about any spam posts within an hour of them appearing and have deleted them. It also does a wonderful job of blocking spam posts completely.

So... i've been playing with the CSS of this site yet again!

Made it simpler, and of all things, more consistent with the original templates used for MoveableType.

But why is that important? For when the MT gang do clever things and add new features it makes it much eaiser for me to add them to my silly little blog. Yay.

Ever wanted to create a Mondrian, but been too lazy to even open photoshop and draw some black lines and paint-bucket in some primary colours???
